Angular upgrades
For organisations with Angular applications on versions that no longer receive security fixes.
A fixed price to bring an Angular application back onto a supported version. It starts with a short scan, so the price is based on your code, not on a guess.
Why it can't wait
Every Angular version leaves support after a fixed period. After that it gets no security fixes, and the libraries around it stop supporting it too. Each version you fall behind makes the next step bigger, and an application that can't be patched is a risk someone in your organisation has to answer for.
I've upgraded Angular applications at Vereniging Eigen Huis (from v9 to v14) and Alliander (to v18), and I know where these upgrades get stuck: third-party libraries, leftover AngularJS, custom build setups and missing tests.
How it works
-
Step 1: Upgrade scan
A short assessment for a fixed fee. You get an inventory of versions and dependencies, the blockers, a step-by-step plan and a fixed quote for the upgrade. Go ahead, and the scan fee is deducted from the upgrade.
-
Step 2: Upgrade
One major version at a time, each step delivered as reviewable pull requests and releasable on its own. Tests on your critical flows come first, so every step can be verified.
-
Step 3: Handover
A short write-up of what changed and how to do the next upgrade yourselves.
What's included
Included
- Angular, the Angular CLI and the build configuration
- Replacing deprecated APIs
- Upgrading third-party libraries to compatible versions
- Fixing what the upgrade breaks, including tests
Not included
- New features
- Redesigns
- Rewriting AngularJS code
Not included unless agreed in the scan. Want to move your styling to Tailwind CSS while we're at it? That can be added to the same plan.
How I handle your code
-
Least access
I work on a copy of the repository with the least access needed: no production data, and secrets and keys removed first.
-
Your AI policy
AI tools run under commercial terms that don't use your code for training. If your policy requires it, I work with your own approved AI environment instead, or without AI at a different fixed price.
-
Your code stays yours
Everything I deliver is yours. No third-party code is copied in, and the licences of new dependencies are checked.
-
NDA and deletion
I sign your NDA, or offer one of my own. Working copies are deleted when the work is done, and I confirm that in writing.
Price on request
The scan has a fixed fee; after the scan you get a fixed price for the upgrade itself.
